First-time buyer acquires Berkshire care home

First-time buyer Saieja Sasikaran has purchased Fourways Residential Home in Sandhurst, Berkshire, which is registered for 20 residents in the categories of old age and dementia and has an overall Care Quality Commission rating of Good.

The home has 19 bedrooms, 17 of which have en suite facilities spread across the ground and first floors.

The home was purchased by AV Atkinson (Fourways) in 2006 and since then has been refurbished and upgraded. The business was brought to market because the owner is concentrating on other business interests.

Funding for the deal was sourced through Christie Finance.

Rowen Atkinson, managing director of AV Atkinson (Fourways), said: “I am delighted to have achieved a sale of Fourways and am very happy passing on the care home to the new buyer who I am sure will run it effectively and efficiently. This is a lovely home, and I have enjoyed running the business but felt that I needed to sell to focus on other care homes that I own.”

Sasikaran commented: “I have been looking to purchase my first care home having been involved in operating care homes for my family for a number of years and, with Fourways being nearby for me, I thought this would be an ideal purchase. I am looking forward to getting to know the staff, residents and their families and building on the home’s good reputation.”

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Charles Phillips, director, healthcare at Christie & Co, said: “The sale of this care home shows there is strong demand for homes of this size throughout the South.” Fourways Residential Home was sold for an undisclosed price
