Family-run group acquires Suffolk dementia care home

Holmwood House Holdings has acquired Norwood House, a 59-bedroom specialist dementia care home in Saxmundham, Suffolk, which was originally a farmhouse and is now a predominantly purpose-built residential care home registered for 71 residents set in around four acres.
The business has planning permission for 14 sheltered/extra-care dwellings.
Owned by Gareth and Enid Nixon-Moss since 2003, Norwood House was brought to market to allow the pair to retire.
Holmwood House Holdings is a family-run regional group led by brothers Dr Asif Raja and Farooq Raja. They have 30 years’ experience operating care homes across East Anglia and say they’re looking to acquire additional opportunities in the region. In a statement they added: “We look forward to working with the fantastic team at Norwood House to ensure a smooth transition, preserve its warm, person-centred culture, and continue providing the highest standard of care for all who call Norwood House home.”
Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.
Norwood House was sold for an undisclosed price.
