A £5.2 million, Exemplar Health Care care home in South Yorkshire will create 80 jobs for the local community.

Potters Green supports adults living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, complex mental health conditions and physical health conditions.

Kim Payne, home manager, said: “I am excited to welcome our first residents and colleagues to the newly opened home. We are proud to offer high quality care for those in need and to have created many new job opportunities for the local community. Potters Green will provide more for the community than just a care home; it will be a place for people to live well, enjoy life, and thrive.”

Split into two, 10-bed communities to provide a more homely, supportive and responsive care environment, each of the 20 bedrooms has its own ensuite wet room. The home also features spacious communal and activity rooms, sensory and therapy rooms, and landscaped gardens, ensuring that residents can enjoy a full and varied lifestyle.

To mark the opening and thank those living nearby for their patience during the refurbishment programme, the home will be hosting a Neighbours Party on 31 August from 4pm, with those living locally invited to visit and learn more about the care provided and to see the facilities within.

Charlotte Lloyd, director of commissioning at Exemplar Health Care, said: “We believe Potters Green will have a profound and lasting positive impact on the lives of everyone in the community, enabling people to live and be cared for closer to their community, their loved ones, and without needing to be in an institutional hospital setting, helping ease pressure on the NHS.”
