Runwood Homes’ The Whitecroft care home has opened a boutique-style shop for residents.

The Mayor of Thurrock launched the shop, The Whitecroft Emporium, with a celebratory champagne reception. Residents will have the opportunity to purchase a range of items including sweets, toiletries, books, cards, socks, underwear, and magazines, without leaving the comfort of their home.

Laura Smith, care home manager at The Whitecroft, said: “This mini shop is more than just a place to purchase everyday items; it’s a symbol of our dedication to ensuring that our residents have access to the comforts and pleasures they deserve.”

The Whitecroft is located in the village of Orsett in Thurrock, Essex.
