Dovehaven hopes to turn around ‘inadequate’ care home bought from HC-One
Dovehaven Care Homes has announced its third acquisition in only two months.
It has bought Callands Care Home from HC-One, with the new property being its biggest yet at 120 beds.
The Warrington home offers residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as catering to more complex conditions.
Dovehaven has made a habit of turning around failing care homes, previously improving Dovehaven Lodge in Ingol, Preston, from ‘inadequate’ to ‘good’.
A statement on the company’s website said: “While the home currently has a history of an ‘inadequate’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we’re not worried. We have a fantastic track record of taking wonderful care of our residents, and we’re fully committed to bringing Callands up to the same high standards we have in all our homes.”
CEO Jenny Davies said: “We are delighted to welcome Callands Care Home to the Dovehaven family.
“While we recognise the work needed to improve the home’s CQC rating, we are confident in our ability to deliver the transformative changes Callands deserves.
“We are committed to investing in the care facility, employee training, and resident well-being programmes to ensure Callands thrives once again.
“We are excited to embark on this journey with the dedicated Callands team and residents, and we look forward to building a bright future together.”
