Christian charity acquires former Gillingham nursing home
A Christian charity has acquired a closed care home in Gillingham, Kent.
The former Berengrove Park Nursing Home comprises a terrace of three three-storey Victorian bay fronted residential properties which have been extended and interlinked with a former detached bungalow on the adjoining plot in 2021, with modern accommodation added around a central courtyard and a total of 35 bedrooms and generous ancillary rooms.
The home was previously owned by Lali and Deepal Benaragama and ceased trading in October to allow the pair to retire.
Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale. John Harrison, director, care at Christie & Co, said: “We received a number of offers which demonstrates the strong demand we are seeing for closed care homes in the Southeast.”
Berengrove Park Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
