A team from The Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society is aiming to raise £10,000 for charity by climbing 24 peaks in 24 hours.

Funds will be donated to the The Seafarers’ Charity in memory of former estates manager Richard Condie, who passed away in April.

Commander Brian Boxall-Hunt, chief executive of The Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society, said: “We are really proud to continue our support for The Seafarers’ Charity through our participation in the 24 Peaks Challenge. It is a cause that was dear to Richard Condie, and we are honoured to carry on his legacy by rallying behind his son, Mike Condie, who has taken up the baton for 2023.

“This year we are entering two teams who will take on 24 peaks in 24 hours, walking and climbing 33 miles and a 13,000 ft ascent. The money raised will provide The Seafarers’ Charity with vital funds, helping those who work at sea and their families.”
