Careberry joins Microsoft Founders’ Hub
Care management platform Careberry has been accepted into Microsoft Founders’ Hub, giving resources and assistance needed for managing director Hossein Sharifi to expand the business.
Sharifi launched the software in 2019 following a fruitless search for an all-in-one management platform: “From a business point of view, it grew to a level that usually takes a good, well-run company about 10 years – we got there within 24 months, mostly during Covid-19”
CareBerry is distinct from its competitors, according to Sharifi, due to its lack of paper trail: “Also, none of the other care managements has recruitment within the system, that’s unique. Secondly, they may say ‘we’ve got medication in the system’ but they’ve incorporated medication from other software rather than building it within the system, so it’s effectively two seperate softwares. When the update happens, who is going to take responsibility?
Being welcomed into the Microsoft Founders Hub has given Careberry the chance to expand by utilising Microsoft Cloud resources and assistance. According to Sharifi, having access to cutting-edge resources like the Open AI API, Drata, and Bubble as well as round-the-clock technical assistance will accelerate the process of adding new features.
“We started using it this week, and, so far, it has been brilliant because we knew these features existed, but we could never afford to use them!”
Sharifi encouraged other tech companies to consider applying to Microsoft Founders’ Hub. “To develop something like Careberry, companies go and raise millions of pounds before even setting off to develop it,” he said. “Having access to the hub, you get all of those facilities and can test your ideas. I think if somebody has got an idea, it is worth exploring the avenue, especially for the mentorship.”
Looking at the government’s plan for digital health and social care, Sharifi said that care systems need to work with other systems, such as hospital discharge: “I think most of the systems in the market are being developed with the NHS in mind; care is different. Systems developed for care need to work with other systems. We are in the process of linking Careberry to GP Connect.”
