A brave care worker is taking the ultimate plunge to raise funds for her care home residents.

Mandy Davidson, 34, has volunteered to take part in a sky dive in October to raise money for Renaissance Care’s Rosepark Care Home.

The care assistant, who only joined Rosepark six months ago, said: “I’m so excited about taking part in this skydive. It’s something that’s always been on my bucket list, and to be able to cross that off while also raising funds for our amazing residents makes it even more special.

“I’m terrified of heights, but my mum is more nervous than me at the moment! Being able to support our residents means the world to me, and I hope they will come out to watch me take my big jump.”

Lauren Kenny, operations support manager at Rosepark Care Home, said: “Mandy sees the difference that holding activities and events for Rosepark’s residents makes to their wellbeing, and we are so grateful that she has volunteered for this incredible opportunity in spite of her fear of heights.

“All of our staff and residents are excited to see Mandy safely back on the ground and we will be giving her all our support on 15 October.”
