Provider of residential and home care across the south of England, Care South, has appointed a new regional support manager, James Marchant, to the business.

James Marchant, Care South

Marchant has over 30 years of experience in the care industry. He started as a community care assistant in 1991 and then moved to work in the learning disability sector, becoming a registered manager at the age of 26. He then grew his career with various care companies as home manager and area director, quality manager and regional support manager and helped commission a new care home before becoming the home’s manager.

In his new role at Care South, Marchant will support homes and managers across the group to provide the best outcomes for residents.

Alongside his various roles, he has achieved a degree in Social Policy from the University of Bristol, a Registered Managers Award, NEBOSH Health and Safety National Certificate and was a finalist in the Caring Times ‘Manager of the Year’ award, not to mention raising three children, two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a tortoise.

Aaron Whitehead, director of residential care at Care South, commented: “I’m very pleased to welcome James to the Care South team where I am in no doubt that he will flourish. He joins us with a breadth of experience and a real passion and understanding for the industry and the needs of residents in our care.”

Marchant added: “I am delighted to start this new role with Care South and bring my experience to support the homes and teams to provide the best possible care and support to residents. I look forward to developing and supporting the staff teams with their objectives and caring for residents in the most person-centred way.”
