Care South appoints new home manager: ‘I love working in such a rewarding industry where every day is different’

Residents and staff at Queensmead at Castle Dene, a Care South home situated on the edge of Bournemouth, have welcomed a new home manager, Lana Wright.

Lana Wright

Wright has worked in the care industry for 19 years, with specialisms in residential and dementia care. Prior to joining Care South, she worked in a residential care home for 14 years where she started as a care assistant and progressed to manager of the Dementia community.

As well as years of industry experience, Wright boasts a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care and in 2021, she won Manager of the Year at her previous company’s annual awards.

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Home Manager at Queensmead at Castle Dene,” Wright said. “I have received such a warm welcome from both residents and staff.

“My Mum was a community carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry where every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.

“I am extremely excited for the future of Queensmead at Castle Dene and very proud to be the registered manager of such a wonderful home.”

Aaron Whitehead, director of residential care at Care South commented: “We are delighted to welcome Lana to the team. She promises to be an outstanding home manager and, already, the residents and their families are enjoying her presence at the home. We are looking forward to seeing Lana flourish in her new role leading the day-to-day operations at Queensmead at Castle Dene and working as an invaluable member of the Care South team.”
