Care manager launches home care business
Care manager Gurprit Gill has launched a Walfinch home care service in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.
Gill started as a carer in 2010, working her way up to the position of care manager. After 16 years in the care sector, and achieving a level 5 qualification in care management, she has launched her own care business as a Walfinch franchisee.
“I see my parents getting older and I want to ensure that they, and everyone who needs help, receives it in a dignified and heartfelt manner – and I want to offer far more than basic care services,” she said. “My grandma can no longer travel, but I want to ensure that she and people like her, can go to family occasions, even if it means taking a carer, a hoist and a profiling bed.”
Gill plans to work with her care team to deliver holistic fitness coaching to help clients increase physical skills, such as getting up from chairs more easily, and has plans for arts and crafts activities, pamper sessions and social occasions. She is introducing her new service to clients and families by organising leaflet distribution and has taken on a content creator to make the service known on social media.
