Seven core team members have notched up an impressive 121 years of service at a Maria Mallaband Care Group care home.

The group of long-serving staff at Croft House in Gawthorpe, West Yorkshire comprises: Margret Clapham, domestic assistant in the laundry with 27 years’ service; Adam Colbeck, deputy manager, with 17 years; Claire Goodlad, a care practitioner with 17 years’ service, Linda Sheared, a carer of 16 years at the home; Lisa Walton a carer with 15 years; Stephe Smith, the cook of 15 years; and head housekeeper Michele Hawker, with 14 years’ service.

Deputy manager Adam Colbeck said: “Croft House is like a family. We all look out for each other and care for each other like our own.

“I think this shows in the long service of some of our core staff who work in the domestic team, care and our cook Stephe who has been here 15 years.  Stephe even made a cake for the occasion when she found out that we had 121 years’ service between us. This is the kind of family team we are.”

Care home manager, Rob Ashton, added: “I think it is a real testimony to the company and the training and development opportunities it provides that these team members have been able to build their careers within this home, progressing and taking up new opportunities as they arose.

“I am so proud to be part of a home where people want to come and work and stay for so many years. Our colleagues are the foundations upon which everything at Croft House is built – and their strength of commitment means that we’re able to provide the best, most consistent care possible for those living here. I thank them all and look forward to celebrating the next long service milestones with them.”
