Capital Care Group acquires Warwickshire home

Capital Care Group has acquired Town Thorns Care Home in Easenhall, Warwickshire. a recently refurbished home offering residential, dementia, nursing and respite care to up to 62 residents.

The home sits on a 25-acre site and comprises a detached, part-three and part-four storey purpose-built property with 62 en suite bedrooms with wetrooms, 29 independent living flats for people over 55 years, and 12 bedsits on the upper floors.

The main mansion house was built between 1871 and 1873 by Alfred Waterhouse. It was sold in the 1930s and set up as a place for evacuated children to live during the war. After the war, it became a children’s home and school. In 1954, it was known as the Town Thorns Residential School for SEN Children for the Coventry Corporation and in 1988 it was bought and redeveloped into a care facility.

Capital Care Group now owns nine care and nursing homes in the Midlands.

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Paul Reilly, director, care at Christie & Co, said “This shows how strong the market is and, in particular, the demand for quality assets across the Midlands.”

Town Thorns Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
