Bupa care home celebrates second Outstanding rating

Staff and residents at a Bupa care home have celebrated being rated Outstanding in all areas for the second time in a row.
Queensmount care home in Bournemouth is one of the few services to have achieved Outstanding in all five KLOEs.
Rebecca Pearson, general manager, Bupa Care Services, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of what the team has achieved. An Outstanding rating is no easy feat. So, to achieve it for the second time and gain formal recognition for being within the top 1% of care homes in the UK, really shows how everyone has worked together and supported each other, particularly in light of the challenges faced over the past few of years.
“At Bupa we always strive to provide the highest quality care for our residents, and I’m so pleased that the CQC inspectors recognised the ‘exceptionally safe care’ provided by the team, as well as the kind, person-centred and inclusive environment.”
The CQC also praised the use of innovative therapies to support residents’ health, wellbeing and independence.
To mark the occasion, the home recently hosted a celebratory event to share the achievement with residents, staff, family members and friends.
Guests enjoyed refreshments and BBQ dishes whilst being serenaded by Jim Etherington, who performed a selection of popular hits while local hero, Jeff Mostyn, chairman at AFC Bournemouth Football Club, attended the event to show his support for the care home.
Claudia Carvell, home manager at Queensmount Bupa Care Home, commented: “The team at Queensmount really do go the extra mile for our residents, they just see it as part of the job. The celebration was a huge thank you to everyone at the home who plays a role in making it a wonderful place to live and work.”
