Previously a home for boys, it was bought at auction by the Histed family in 1987. Later that year, they renovated the site and opened Beulah Lodge, and it has remained under the same family ownership until recently, when they decided to retire from the sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Histed family, Rebecca Lince said: “We are delighted to have now sold the business to BLTW which successfully operates a similar sized care home already.”

BLTW also operates Crest House in East Sussex.

Ilker Djavit, director at BLTW, added: “We are delighted to have bought Beulah Lodge after searching for the right care home for some time and are excited about continuing the strong reputation which Rebecca and the team have built up at Beulah Lodge as a successful family-run business by using our experience in the care sector.”

The sale was facilitated by business property advisor Christie & Co. John Harrison, director, healthcare at Christie & Co, commented: “We are continuing to experience good demand for care businesses in this region.”

Beulah Lodge Rest Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
