Bliss Care Group purchases Devon care home

Bliss Care Group has acquired Aveland Care Residential Care Home in Torquay which primarily offers residential and dementia care for people over the age of 65 and also specialises in caring for people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, respite care, and convalescent care.

The home’s CQC rating is Requires Improvement.

Bliss Care Group’s owner Issac Theophilos said: “It is precisely because this care home needs improvement that I have decided to buy it. I have the skills to turn care homes around and I am delighted to acquire Aveland Court which has huge potential and is in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

“I feel that I can develop and build on the culture and ethos and motivate the whole team to work towards a common goal of further caring for our residents and significantly improving our CQC rating. There are exciting times ahead as we build on the quality of the services we provide. The huge support that the team provides enormously enhances our abilities to assist those patients needing our help. Having already parachuted in as the registered manager to get a feel of this home, now I am the owner, I am so excited to lead this brilliant team in a seamless way. The first thing I did when we completed was buying cakes and donuts for the entire team to celebrate as a team.”

Law firm Seafords advised on the sale.
