Birmingham home presents school with partnership award

A Birmingham care home honoured a local secondary school with a special award to recognise a ten-year partnership.

Church Rose presented the Community Award to students of Holyhead Secondary School during the school’s end-of-year presentation evening at Birmingham Town Hall.

Students make regular visits to the home to perform and read to the residents, and take part in arts and crafts activities. Earlier this year residents and students enjoyed a joint celebration to mark King Charles’ coronation.

Mae Ann Lacson, Church Rose manager, said: “We are extremely grateful for the relationship we have built with Holyhead School and the compassion and patience that the students have with our residents. It is a highlight of the week when they come to visit and we are excited to continue strengthening this relationship for years to come.”

Church Rose is owned by the Macc Care Group which has a collection of thirteen homes across the Midlands.
