Berkley Care Group attains ISO 9001 certification

Luxury care provider Berkley Care Group has attained ISO 9001 quality management certification by the International Standards Organisation.

The ISO 9001 certification is a standard outlining the requirements for a quality management system. It helps organisations ensure they consistently meet customer and other stakeholder needs within statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product or service.

The certification process for Berkley concluded with the certification body Alcumus auditing and verifying every aspect of Berkley’s central support functions along with its care homes operations. As part of the process, auditors randomly visited three homes out of a sample of six in addition to Berkley’s head office. They did this in two stages, the first in July and the second in December, to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of Berkley’s internal processes.

The certification will be valid for three years, having been awarded outstanding by all the external auditors with zero non-conformities.

ISO 9001 specialist Jeremy Cuddeford presented the ISOQAR certificate of registration to Berkley’s chief executive Laura Taylor and six of the care group’s general managers at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Warwick last week.

Cuddeford said: “The work that Berkley has done to get here has been comprehensive and this award is an enormous seal of approval.”

Louise Atherton, Berkley’s clinical risk and quality director commented: “I am truly honoured to have led our team in achieving the ISO 9001 certification, a significant milestone that underscores our commitment to person-centred care and continuous development.

“Jeremy’s expertise was invaluable in demystifying the process and he really did facilitate our success. This achievement reflects the collective effort of our dedicated staff across Berkley Care Group, whose hard work and commitment to excellence have been pivotal. It’s a proud moment for us all. A big well done to the entire group for their dedication to delivering the highest standards of care.”

Taylor added: “Gaining the ISO 9001 certification is a landmark achievement that epitomises our dedication to excellence in luxury care. This certification is far from the end; it is a milestone which inspires us to innovate further and enhance our services to ensure that we remain at the forefront of providing superior all-inclusive care services.

“Congratulations to the dedicated team who helped us in achieving this award. It is a testament to their hard work and commitment to providing outstanding care.”
