Aspire to build Norfolk care home
Care home development company Aspire has obtained planning consent for the construction of a 72-bedroom care home on a 1.2-acre site in the market town of Downham Market in Norfolk.
Aspire’s managing director Michael Lucas said: “This project represents one in a pipeline of care home developments which Aspire is delivering to the market during 2022 and beyond. We are proud to play a significant role in providing this new care home to the Downham community. Aspire has again demonstrated its ability to work at local level with the community and key local stakeholders to achieve unanimous support at planning committee, within a six-month time frame.”
The site was sold for an undisclosed price with the deal facilitated by business property advisor Christie & Co.
Jordan Rundle, director – healthcare development at Christie & Co said: “The catchment for Downham Market has a material shortfall of 188 market standard care beds, which is forecast to increase to 290 by 2031. Aspire LPP has delivered yet another planning permission in a seamless fashion and this best-in-class scheme design will provide future-proof accommodation for the growing need in the town and surrounding area. The buyer, an award-winning operator, will be perfectly placed to bring the scheme forward.”
