Opus Restructuring appointed to manage closure of Scottish care homes
Opus Restructuring and Insolvency has been appointed to manage the closure of two Scottish care homes.
Partners, Mark Harper and Steven John Parker, have been appointed as joint provisional liquidators of Hogganfield Care Centre in Glasgow and Skye View Care Centre in Airdrie.
Harper said: “It has been a very difficult period for operators in the care sector, the cashflow for both Hogganfield Care and Skye View care homes has been stretched due to significant increases in energy, food, staffing costs, and other inflationary pressures. Unfortunately, the director was unable to resolve these issues, particularly at Hogganfield, where occupancy had fallen sharply to an unsustainable level.”
Opus said it would be working with care home staff, Glasgow City Council, North Lanarkshire Council, and the Care Inspectorate to ensure all residents will be relocated to alternative accommodation at the most convenient opportunity. The joint provisional liquidators will also assist all staff members throughout the process.
Hogganfield Care Centre, a 44-bed nursing home at 1791 Royston Road, Millerston, Glasgow, is operated by Hogganfield Care Limited.
Skye View Care Centre, a 24-bed, specialist dementia centre at 1 Arran Drive, Airdrie, is operated by Skye Care.
