Oakland Care recognised as ‘top employer’ for third year running
Luxury care home provider Oakland Care has been recognised as a ‘top employer’ for the third year running.
The Top Employers Institute programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practices Survey and ultimately enables them to access and improve their workplace environment. The in-depth survey covers topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being, Diversity & Inclusion, and more.
Chief executive officer at Oakland Care, Joanne Balmer, said: “I am extremely proud that we have received this prestigious accreditation for an incredible third year in a row. Across Oakland Care we have developed an appealing work structure and support system that allows people to thrive. We recognise the important connection that exists between the delivery of outstanding care to our residents, and the cultivation of an outstanding environment for our team members that grants opportunities for them to develop and flourish in their careers.”
Employment initiatives launched by Oakland Care include its Assistant Practitioner Programme which has been developed with the aim of upskilling their current and future care teams through the delivery of development opportunities.
Georgia Westlake, a member of the team at Oakland Care’s Hastings Court, has been able to take steps towards achieving her dream of becoming a nurse through this programme.
Despite initially taking a different direction in her career, the team at the care home recognised her natural caring instincts and felt she was perfectly suited to the course. This has proven to be a huge success, with Westlake hitting the ground running and quickly developing the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge to succeed in an industry she is truly passionate about.
