Hallmark Luxury Care Homes has acquired a 1.78-acre site in Cardiff, Wales.

The award winning care operator will build a 81-bed, residential, dementia and nursing care home at Melrose Hall in St Mellon’s district with construction beginning in summer 2025.

Managing director of Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, Aneurin Brown, said: “The acquisition of the Melrose Hall site represents a key milestone in our growth strategy, expanding our geographic presence in Wales to meet the growing demand for specialist care.

“We are looking forward to utilising our 26 years’ experience to build a home which will be in the heart of the community and alongside our dedicated team, will support residents to thrive in all aspects of later life.”

The Cardiff development will be Hallmark’s 26th care home. Director, head of healthcare development Jordan Rundle, at Christie & Co, who managed the sale, said: “Christie & Co’s specialist care development team is delighted to have advised on this landmark transaction in Wales. With their significant existing presence in the South Wales region, Hallmark will be in an excellent position to serve the growing requirement for market standard care beds in the local area. It has been a pleasure working with the Hallmark team on this transaction and we look forward to seeing the scheme come forward in the coming months.”
