West Midlands care home launches Forget Me Not Café
A Solihull care home is supporting families dealing with dementia through a new monthly service.
The Forget Me Not Café was launched at Sanders Senior Living’s Claridge Place care home on 22 January.
James Morris, senior general manager at Claridge Place, said: “We were delighted to launch our Forget Me Not Café, and it was a huge success. We have a dedicated team here at Claridge Place, and we all together share a passion for providing the best level of care for all of our residents.
“This extends to our relatives. We are pleased that we can offer a safe space for our families and members of the community. We are here to support, guide and care. Our Forget Me Not Café will be hosted once a month at Claridge Place and will become a permanent fixture for our community.”
The launch event, which included a performance by a classical singer and a raffle featuring generously donated items, was led by the home’s team members, Rachel and Amanda.
Caring team member Rachel added a personal touch by baking homemade cakes for the occasion.
Families were also provided with Dementia UK support books offering valuable insights on how to cope with a loved one living with dementia.
