Wallacea Living has marked a significant milestone in the construction of its first integrated retirement community.

Representatives from Wallacea Living and Berkeley were joined by key stakeholders from the local community, as well as members of the project team for the ‘topping out’ ceremony at Wallacea Living Marylebone within Berkeley’s West End Gate development.

Paul Morgan, chief executive at Wallacea Living, said: “This is an exciting milestone for Wallacea Living as we celebrate the completion of the external structure of what will be our first IRC. It is our belief that your retirement years can be your best years and at Wallacea Living Marylebone, we’re creating a community where this is possible.

“Due to a lack of quality options, the current trend is for the over 65s to move out of London when they look to downsize. At Wallacea Living Marylebone, we’re offering a fresh approach to what retirement living in London can look like. Homeowners will be encouraged to maintain an independent lifestyle and continue to enjoy everything that our capital city has to offer, knowing that they have a hassle-free, luxurious home to return to.”

Homeowners will benefit from Wallacea Living’s 24-7 in-house hospitality and care teams, regular health MOTs and a GP boking portal, and have access to the on-site restaurant, swimming pool, spa and salon, private cinema and library bar, alongside regular events and classes.

Paul Vallone, divisional managing director at Berkeley, said: “This is a fantastic milestone in this complex urban regeneration project, which is delivering a mix of private, social-rented, intermediate rented and senior living homes in the heart of Westminster. We’re thrilled to have such a diverse community at West End Gate and we’re excited to be continuing our investment in the area with the regeneration of the derelict police station next door.”

Wallacea Living is expected to welcome its first homeowners in spring 2026 with prices for a new apartment starting from £935,000.
