Insurance Companies across the country are coming together on Insurance Against Dementia Day to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. On the evening Talking Stock will be putting on a play called The Last Memory, which is about the relationship between a father and daughter and how they protect his memory following being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Why your support is so important to us!

I am Jackie Hyde (Director at Stanmore Insurance). Myself and my sister Sue Barker would like to share our story in Memory of our late father. In the latter stages of his life, dad had been diagnosed with vascular dementia and we had to go through the difficult process of obtaining a deprivation of liberty order, as he’d lost capacity in terms of his decision making.

We were fortunate in that I had a contact at Stephensons solicitors who were able to provide advice on what the process involved and what we needed to do. We want to make sure other people are able to access similar support and advice.

On 7th November, insurance companies across the country are having an Insurance Against Dementia Day to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. For more information please see:

We are hosting the event at Bolton University at 6pm and it’s purpose is twofold:

1. To raise awareness of dementia and the support available

2. To raise funds for the Alzhiemer’s Society
