Renaissance Care and Four Seasons Health Care founder Robert Kilgour has set up a new UK wide think tank and pressure group to represent social care.

The Social Care Foundation aims to provide and encourage positive debate, ideas and suggestions on the best way ahead for social care reform.

Kilgour, who also chairs the body, said: “The entire care sector, and increasingly the country at large, recognises that much of the UK’s social care system requires urgent and significant reform. We simply can’t continue as we are.

“The Social Care Foundation has been set up on a non-political basis to improve the experience of residents, carers and families by harnessing talent and expertise from right across the sector.

“We are in the process of establishing an expert advisory board to help shape this vital work, and establish clear strategic priorities to ensure that The Social Care Foundation can make a positive and effective contribution to one of the biggest challenges which faces our society today.”
