Purpose-built Gloucestershire care home sold to Welford Healthcare

Stanshawes Care Home in South Gloucestershire has been sold to Welford Healthcare Ltd.

Stanshawes Care Home

Stanshawes is a purpose-built care home registered with the CQC to provide nursing care to up to 48 residents in 43 bedrooms. It is located in a residential area close to the town centre of Yate in South Gloucestershire and has a ‘Good’ CQC rating.

Local demographics show that the profile for over 65s within five kilometres of the property is ahead of the national average and, within this range, there is also an undersupply of beds, which illustrates the demand for homes like Stanshawes in the area.

Following a confidential sales process, the home has been purchased by multiple care home operator, Welford Healthcare.

Speaking on behalf of Welford Healthcare Limited, director Peter Madden, commented, “We continue to implement our acquisition strategy focused on high-quality, performing care homes; we are delighted to welcome Stanshawes into the Welford group of homes and look forward to starting work with the team and resident community.”

“This sale is yet another example of the appetite that exists for quality opportunities not just in and around Bristol but in the South West as a whole,” Simon Harvey, senior director – healthcare at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added. “It was sold confidentially with strong interest and multiple bids having been received and is the most recent addition to the growing Welford Healthcare portfolio. We are delighted to have assisted the Directors of Welford with their continued expansion and wish them every future success with this home.”

Stanshawes Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
