Plans unveiled for state-of-the-art Surrey care home

Healthcare developer LNT Care Developments has unveiled plans for a multimillion-pound investment to provide a purpose-built care home in Windlesham, Surrey.

LNT has developed over 135 homes across England since 2005, with Windlesham adding to their expansive pipeline across the South.

The new care home will be situated on Chertsey Road opposite the former British Oxygen Head Quarters. It will have 66 en-suite bedrooms within a layout designed to provide a comfortable and accessible environment to deliver general residential and dementia care.

Residents will benefit from a range of communal amenities such as lounges and dining rooms, garden rooms, cinema rooms, a café bar and health and beauty facilities, all within a building designed to be resource and energy efficient; the facility’s energy needs are generated on-site, using solar power and ground source heating.

The care home will be surrounded by attractively landscaped gardens that will provide safe and secure outdoor amenity space to benefit residents’ health and well-being whilst boosting the site’s ecological value with greater use of pollinating, habitat-friendly and sensory planting.

“Our mission is to provide every elderly person in England with the option of a high-quality place to live that provides an excellent environment which is responsive to their individual changing needs,” said Keeley Sharp, development director at LNT.

“Our care homes are an important part of the community fabric, enabling people to continue to live locally and maintain the important connections established throughout their lives’’.
