Plans unveiled for Market Drayton care home

Healthcare developer LNT Care Developments has unveiled plans for a multimillion-pound purpose-built care home for older people in Market Drayton, Shropshire.

The new care home will have 66 en suite bedrooms and provide general residential and dementia care. Communal amenities will include lounges, dining rooms, cinema rooms, a café bar, health and beauty facilities and a garden.

The building will be designed to be resource and energy efficient, generating most of the care home’s energy needs on-site, using solar power and ground source heating.

Keeley Sharp, development director at LNT said: “Our mission is to provide every elderly person in England with the option of a high-quality place to live that provides an excellent quality of life. Our care homes provide this in a fit for purpose home designed to be responsive to their changing needs.

The home is expected to provide 50 to 60 new jobs.

Neighbouring residents and local councillors are being consulted on the proposals. which will soon be submitted to Shropshire Council for consideration.
