New UVMATIC Air Purifier kills viruses, bacteria and odours

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]PROMOTION: Infection control specialist DDC Dolphin has added air purification to its wide range of advanced sluice room solutions – safeguarding hospitals and care homes.

DDC Dolphin has launched UVMATIC, a sophisticated new air purification system that uses ultraviolet light and ozone to destroy airborne and surface bacteria and remove odours.

UVMATIC eliminates viruses and bacteria – including influenza, E. coli, Salmonella and Streptococcus. It is highly effective in removing unpleasant smells in sluice rooms, washrooms and corridors.

Each unit is fully automated and chemical-free. It works 24/7/365 to create a cleaner, safer and more hygienic environment that is free from malodour.

UVMATIC draws in polluted air then treats it using UV light and photocatalytic oxidation. It creates:

  •  photoplasma – which eliminates bacteria, viruses and microorganisms
  •  ozone – highly reactive and energised oxygen that disinfects the air
  •  negative ions – which increase the efficiency of the process, removing airborne impurities and dust.

UVMATIC is easy to install and has low running costs (similar to a low energy lightbulb).

It requires virtually no maintenance and needs no input from staff – freeing them up to concentrate on providing care.

Servicing simply involves a DDC Dolphin engineer replacing the 16-watt UV bulb every 9,000 hours and checking the fan.

A DDC Dolphin spokesperson said: “UVMATIC air purification technology is essential for the modern sluice room.

“That’s because even the most vigorous and regular cleaning can still let odours linger. This gives the impression of poor hygiene standards – but UVMATIC eliminates those odours.”

Poole-based DDC Dolphin manufactures and exports sluice room equipment across the world, safeguarding patients and clinicians from dangerous infections including superbugs.

Its products include medical pulp macerators, incontinence product macerators and bedpan washer disinfectors.

DDC Dolphin is one of only three major companies in the world specialising in medical pulp macerators. Its machines use hands-free technology that makes it safer to dispose of human waste.

In the last two years the company’s global exports have doubled to £2 million. Overseas sales now represent 23% of turnover.

Key export markets include Europe, India, Singapore and the rest of Asia. South America offers key breakthrough opportunities.
