Family firm buy Margate home

The Isiakpere family has purchased Shottendane Nursing Home in Margate, Kent, which is registered for 38 residents. The vendor is Laurence Waitt.

The Grade II listed building, built in 1910 and set up as a seaside convalescent home for railway workers in 1927, became Shottendane Nursing Home in 1988.

The Isiakpere family own other care homes in the area including Tulipa House in Margate.

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

John Harrison, director, care at Christie & Co, said: “We are seeing good demand in the Southeast for care homes, with a record pipeline of sales currently proceeding.”

Shottendane Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
