Exemplar Health Care begins work on complex care home
Exemplar Health Care has begun construction of a care home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Due for completion by spring 2025, Leger Grove complex needs care home will provide comprehensive support to adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.
Charlotte Lloyd, commissioning director at Exemplar Health Care, said: “Our aim is to make every day better for our residents by providing person-centred care that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.
“Once complete, the home will create a significant number of local healthcare employment opportunities, whilst also making sure the local community has access to a much-needed complex needs care service. It’s our ambition for the home to be a place where our residents can be part of the community, whether through work placements, local events or volunteering.”
Leger Grove will be Exemplar Health Care’s 10th care home in South Yorkshire, with the organisation already operating Quarryfields in Doncaster. Having recently opened its 50th care home, Exemplar Health Care – which is headquartered in Rotherham – now employs more than 4,500 people and supports more than 1,000 individuals living with a wide range of complex care needs, establishing itself as a leader in the sector.
Paul Hammerton, managing director at Walter Thompson Contractors, the home’s contractor, said: “We’re delighted to have been instructed as the construction contractor for Leger Grove, in Doncaster. Leger Grove will be our 16th scheme to-date for Exemplar Health Care, we look forward to continuing our mission of building spaces that enrich the lives of those with complex needs for Exemplar Health Care.”
