Principle Care Homes and RG Carter held a “steel signing ceremony” to celebrate a key milestone in the creation of a 137-bed luxury residential, nursing and dementia facility.

Team members from construction company RG Carter joined members of its internal architectural and engineering design team CDG along with representatives of Principle Care Homes and Coutts Bank to celebrate the completion of the steel structure of the building after nine months of work.

The restoration and extension project at Broomfield Village in Chelmsford involves a transformation of the existing building and the construction of a new four storey extension. Open dining space on each floor will overlook landscaped gardens.

Jake Betts, construction manager at RG Carter, said: “The steel signing celebrates an important stage of the project and enables all those that have been involved to make their mark. With the building’s steel structure now in place, it’s great to see the building progressing well, and we look forward to transforming this space for its future residents to enjoy.”

Laura Mansfield, customer relationship manager at Principle Care Homes, said: “We’re delighted with the progress of the care home so far, and the steel signing event is the perfect way to mark the start of a very special journey for us, providing a place where our residents can feel special.”

Broomfield Village is the first care home in the collection from newly-founded family-run business Principle Care Homes.
